The charming old market town of Brecon is regarded as one of the most historic locations of settlements in Wales and today hosts a wide range of events throughout the year. Known best for The Brecon Jazz Festival in the Summer the town also has a Baroque Festival in October as well as an eclectic mix of gigs in the pubs and a good calendar of musical experiences at both Brecon Cathedral and Theatr Brycheiniog all year round.

The art galleries of the town work togther to offer you the Artbeat Trail and in 2010 hosted the first ever Brecon Art week which will be returning in 2011.

The town has a Farmers Market twice a month but is lucky enough to have 3 butchers, a fishmonger and fresh veg stall open all week – buying good, locally sourced food is never a problem.

As well as the theatre with it’s weekly programme, jazz and comedy club and top floor gallery there is also a cinema with showings every day except Mondays.

Click here for all the events in the Brecon Beacons.
